The Albion Tea Shop is the new tea shop on Queen Street. Winner of the Enterprise Cup awarded by the Market Rasen Development Trust. This award was given to the Owner Sally Ann Dopson and her husband for the beautiful restoration of the building that was in a mess when they first bought the property.
Sally Ann Dopson is the proud new owner of the Albion tea shop. After visiting Market Rasen for a look round in 2004 "I saw the building and thought it was a shame that it was in such a mess because it looked to have real potential. I immediately thought that it would make a great tea shop because of the nice big windows".
The building was bought in April and the long and costly process to renovate the building to its past former glory began in October. The process was definitely a success as after 1 year of hard work the end result is a beautifully renovated building, friendly and cheerful staff, and the best coffee and scones for miles around.
The Albion Tea shop opened on the 7th of November 2005 without any advertisement and earned its trade from word of mouth. It really is worth a visit to take a break from the day and watch it pass while you relax and enjoy tasty home made cakes and drinks.
