Pedro the Clown is the stage name of Lincoln journalist, author and broadcaster Peter Brown.
Peter worked for almost 40 years as a journalist at the Lincolnshire Echo, writing the daily Gossiper Page for the last 20 years until taking early retirement in 2006.
Since 1967 he has had a parallel career as a circus performer, presenting juggling and rope-spinning acts under the name of El Petanos. In July 1989, he created the character of Pedro the Clown and has since appeared in many parts of Britain and as far afield as Lapland.
He is heard regularly on BBC Lincolnshire, and is the author of the book, Hold The Front Page And Send In The Clowns.
Shortly before leaving the Lincolnshire Echo, Peter was proud to be made an Honorary Freeman of the City of Lincoln, in recognition of his services to the city.
