A popular part of the Gardeners’ Fair is the “Open Gardens”.
Local people with an interest in gardening kindly open their gardens to the public during the two afternoons of the event.
There is a variety of gardens to see, ranging from small intimate hide-aways to larger formal garden and those with vegetable patches.
Very few gardeners would ever say that their garden is finished, as they change with the seasons and are always a “work in progress”, but our gardeners hope that you will appreciate the work that goes into their own plots and enjoy the opportunity to share the pleasure of gardening with them.
Guides for the Open Gardens will be on sale at the Gardeners’ Fair in the Market Square at £3 per person. This will gain you admission to all the open gardens over the two afternoons. Some of the gardens will also be selling plants and/or refreshments but full details, together with a map, will be included.
